Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani is an institution declared in 1964 as Deemed to be University under Section 3 of the UGC act. Applications are invited for admission in the 2^nd semester starting from January 2010 to the Ph.D Programmes..

Ph.D. Programme at BITS Campuses in Pilani, Goa & Hyderabad

Input Qualification: M.E./M.Pharm./MBA/M.Phil of BITS or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate in the qualifying examination. Any Applicant with an M.Sc./B.E./B.Pharm or their equivalent degree with a minimum of 60% aggregate may be considered for Ph.D. admission subject to the eligibility conditions but has to do prescribed additional course work. For the Ph.D. Programmes shortlisted candidates shortlisted candidates will be asked to come to Pilani/Goa/Hyderabad for written tests and interview on 04-01-2011 at their own cost. Further Details will be sent to the shortlisted candidates called for test/interview.

Industries and R&D organizations collaborating with BITS can sponsor candidates to work for Ph.D. under the “Ph.D. aspirants scheme”. Under this scheme such employed professionals having long experience and proven competence are admitted and will be allowed to pursue research work at their own locations.

ASSISTANTSHIP /SCHOLARSHIP

Applicants for admission to the Ph.D. programmes will also be considered for financial assistance in the form of Teaching/Project/Research Assistantships. Such selected candidates will be required to participate in teaching and other developmental programme of the institute under the guidance of a mentor.

Application Fee is Rs 1500/-. Send the completed form with all enclosures to 'Admissions Officer, BITS, Pilani - 333 031 (Raj.)' so as to reach the Institute before the deadline, i.e., 5.00 PM 30th November 2010.
